The Anger You Feel Is Growth

It’s not always just about how someone treated you… sometimes it’s about how you allowed yourself to be treated.


You think you’re angry with them, but if you’re honest, part of that frustration is with yourself. You knew it didn’t feel right. You saw the signs. You felt the disrespect. And you stayed quiet… you stayed available… you kept giving.


Now you look back and think, “I would never allow that today.”

And you’re right…you wouldn’t.


There are people from my past who couldn’t handle the version of me I am now. I would say exactly what it is. I would set the boundary. I would walk away without overexplaining. Growth will do that.


But don’t stay stuck in shame about what you allowed.

Acknowledge it. Own it. Learn from it.


Then forgive yourself.


You were operating from the level of healing you had at the time. Now you know better, so you move differently. And that’s the point…not to punish yourself for the past, but to honor your growth moving forward.
